Hello! Long time no post.....

Sorry for the lateness of this post....All throughout May I was house sitting with my boyfriend while his parents were overseas, now I'm house sitting again for the whole of June! The only down side is there is no internet in the house we are in at the moment :( I'll have to go home to be able to upload my posts.

Anyway, on to the polish....Gelicious recently had a massive sale; I couldn't pass up a 40% off sale and you got a free polish if you bought three or more, needless to say that's an amazing deal. They have some lovely colours and I've been wanting a bright fire truck red for a while now, which 'Hit the Gym' certainly is.

I ended up doing a simple design of mint polka dots on a purple base with a little bunny on my ring finger. I was planning on doing something a bit more extravagant, like a pretty painted egg design....yeah, that was a fail haha.

Essence 'Gel Nails at Home' Trend Edition {Swatches & Review}

essence cosmetics have just released their brand new 'Gel Nails at Home' trend edition in Australia and I'm excited to be able to share my thoughts with you today!

Gel nails are really popular at the moment so it's no surprise that more and more brands are releasing their own gel nails systems, this means you can get the gel polish look for a fraction of the price of regular salon visits.

The cool thing about the essence Gel Nails at Home system is you don't need to buy and use any special gel polishes, you can just use any of your favourite regular Essences nail polishes. Another great thing about this system is the peel off base coat, yep that's right you can just peel the polish straight off! Regular gel manicures require you to soak your fingers in acetone for 10 or so minutes before the polish can be easily removed, this peel of base coat means no more soaking and no more wasting acetone, yay!


The lamp that is used with this system is a mini 'one-nail-at-a-time' LED lamp that connects via USB. You can plug it into your computer or into your phone charger (if it has a USB connection).

 

The 'Gel Nails at Home' gel system consists of a nail cleanser, a primer, a peel off gel base coat, three gel topcoats (a clear, a french finish and a 'special effect' finish), a gel corrector pen and a mini USB LED lamp.

Ulta3 'Strawberry Sundae' and 'Outasight'

Just a quick post today to show you some new polishes that were sent to me by the lovely ladies at Ulta3!

Ulta3 is an Australian cosmetics brand that offer great products for a very reasonable price. I tend to use a lot of their polishes in my nail art as they are easy to work with, have a great colour selection and at $2 a polish they are a very affordable option!

For this look I used two coats of 'Strawberry Sundae' and two thin coats of 'Outasight'

Nail Art Tutorial: Vintage Roses

Recently I've been asked by a few people on Instagram how I do some of my nail art designs and what a better way to explain then with a tutorial! I've been wanting to do nail art tutorials for a while now and now that I have this blog I hope it can become a regular thing.
 

 I decided to start with this  vintage rose print because it's a simple but very pretty design....So lets get started!

Glam Polish 'Unicorn Sparkles'

Today I have a lovely polish from Glam Polish to show you called 'Unicorn Sparkles'. Unfortunately this was a limited edition shade and is no longer available :( however if you check out Glam Polish's website I'm sure you'll find something you love just as much!

Unicorn Sparkles has a pretty purple base with a holographic shimmer and loads of tiny-medium sized hex and circle glitters in green, pink, purple and blue. It even has pink diamond shaped glitter!

This polish has a nice smooth formula which leans a little bit on the sheer side but can be opaque on its own with two thick-ish coats. I added a third thin coat for these photos just to add extra sparkle.

OPI 'Make Him Mine' - Mariah Carey Holiday Collection 2013

I'm so excited to share with you my first real blog post!

Today I have a lovely OPI polish to show you called 'Make Him Mine' from the Mariah Carey Holiday Collection 2013.

'Make Him Mine' is a gorgeous bronze liquid sand (textured) polish with loads of  silvery shimmer and small hex glitters. Like all the textured/liquid sand polishes I've used in the past, 'Make Him Mine' has an excellent formula and applies very smooth and evenly (almost no clean up required!). It also dries pretty quick and there is no need for top coat, which makes for a very quick and easy mani change.
